Welcome to the Wichita Falls ISD Benefits Center. In today’s busy life style it can get complicated making sure you are fully protecting your family and assets. The Affordable Care Act requires individuals to maintain minimum health insurance coverage for themselves and their dependents. This mandate is not considered a qualifying event for you to add coverage med-year. Every employee must log in and either elect or decline coverage. Please use the navigation links to the left of this screen to view each plan summary and helpful information. Important Things to Know for 2020-2021

• Wichita Falls ISD Cafeteria Plan year runs from September 1st through August 31st each year. TASC Flex Systems is our Third Party Administrator (TPA) for the flex spending accounts. TASC provides a debit card for the Medical Reimbursement account that can be used at doctor’s offices and pharmacies. They also have a smart phone app that can be used as well. Make sure you retain all receipts for IRS tax auditing purposes.

• We will automatically pre-tax all your eligible health insurance premiums as allowed by the Cafeteria Plan. Remember once the plan year starts you cannot make any changes to your coverage mid-year unless it's due to a Qualified Life Event (QLE). The QLE’s are due to marriage, divorce, medicaid/medicare eligibility, birth/adoption of a child and involuntary loss of other coverage. You have 31 days from the event date to make any changes. Please login to the enrollment site and complete a QLE Request Form with supporting documents and forward to the Insurance Office at the Ed. Center.

Very Important: TRS has changed the Medical carrier to BCBS for the 2020-2021 plan year. Pleas look over plan summaries as the plans have changed and some will require a PCP to enroll. TRS has also mandated that every employee who covers a dependent (including spouse) on the medical health insurance to have their date of birth and social security number listed in the system on each one. Please make sure that on the “Personal Information” page to list your e-mail and all required information on each dependent.

New Accident & Critical Illness Policies starting 9/1/20 through Chubb. The Accident will replace the Met Life Accident and will no longer be bundled with the Hospital Indemnity plan. Critical Illness will be a new benefit offering this year.

The Dental Carrier will be with Humana starting 9/1/20. We will continue to have two dental plans through Humana.  Please note: The low dental plan is a preventative plan that will not cover major dental services.  

New Hospital Indemnity plan through Beazley starting 9/1/2020. This will replace the MetLife plan that was previously bundled with the Accident coverage.


New Medical Transportation System plan through MASA MTS starting 9/1/2020. MASA is a membership program that includes the most comprehensive air and ground ambulance transportation solutions for consumers who are at home, at work or traveling the world, as well as protection from the financial catastrophes that unexpected medical transportation costs will cause.


•Health Savings Account (HSA) effective 9/1/18 can be used with the High Deductible Medical Plan only. The advantages of this account will allow you to set aside pre-tax money to help pay for out of pocket medical costs. You can contribute a higher balance into this account than you can a Flex Savings Account (FSA). Funds in the account will roll over from year to year.

Disability Insurance will continue through The Standard. You can sign up for coverage during open enrollment without answering health questions. Any condition that is pre-existing will not be covered under this plan.

Superior Vision will continue to be the vision carrier for this next plan year. New enrollees will receive a welcome letter and ID cards from Superior. Once enrolled you can use their smart phone app, or log into www.superiorvision.com for ID cards or provider list.

New Cancer policy starting 9/1/2020 through Prosperity Life. If you would like to keep your current Loyal American policy, you will have the option to in the enrollment and will be able to keep on payroll deduction.

• The district provides a free $10,000.00 basic term life insurance policy through Standard for qualifying employees. You are also able to purchase additional supplemental term life insurance for you, spouse and dependent children.

• Permanent life Insurance is available through Chubb LBT starting 9/1/2020. This plan provides simplified issue permanent life insurance that you can keep when you leave WFISD. Current Texas Life and Fidelity policyholders will be grandfathered and allowed to keep policies on payroll deductions.
